Argumentitive essay

The novel "The curious incident of the dog in the night time" is an mysterious novel. In the novel someone murdered a dog named Wellington, Mrs. Shears poodle. There are many suspects that could have been blamed for Wellingtons murdered. I think Mr. Boone is the suspect for Wellingtons murdered because when Christopher was trying to find out who killed Wellington in the neighbourhood. Mr. Boone tells Christopher "just try to keep your nose out of peoples bussiness"and he also states "it's a bloody dog" Christopher. Which means Mr. Boone doesn't want Christopher to bud in peoples bussiness because Christopher is an autistic child which means he's really smart so he doesn't want him to figure out who murdered Wellington. Another suspect I think Mr. Boone murdered Wellington because Mr. Boone doesn't care if Christopher goes for 3am morning walks and does werid thing around the town then why would Mr. Boone care if Christopher goes around and find out who killed Wellington. These are something reason why I think that Mr. Boons is the suspect for killing Wellington 

Stress song

I choose the song la la land by Demi Lovato. I chose this song because it cool me down when I'm feeling down. When she says:

I am confident, but I still have my moments Baby, that's just me

This line calms me down because  Demi is saying is that you are confident but still at some moments you can be insecure but that's just who you are.

Another line that relates to me is 

I won't change anything in my life / (I won't change anything in my life) / I'm staying myself tonight / (I'm staying myself tonight)

This line connects to me that no matter what other people say or tell you, I will always be myself and no one can change me.

Romeo and Juliet formal write up

In the play Romeo and Juliet Mercutio is often considered as Shakespeare's best and important character. Mercutio is the nephew of the prince and is friends with both families in rivalry the Capulets and the Montagues. 

one reason Mercutio is important because of his overbearing personality. He builds up his character by  his inventive imagery and his sexuality jokes one example is the a queen mab speech.

That plates the manes of horses in the night,

And bakes the elflocks in fouls sluttish hair,

Which once intangled, much misfortune

Another reason why Mercutio is important is because Mercutio isnt a "love dovey" person unlikely like Romeo how he's so obsessed with Juliet. He also argues how love is a dream and dreams are nothing. 

 Last reason is Mercutio is important because he's caring in the play Mercutio wants peace between the two families, the Capulets and Montagues. He also cares for Romeo becaue he doesn't want Romeo to marry Juliet because he knows it will cause trouble between the two families

In conclusion i think Mercutio is considered as an important role in the play Romeo and Juliet. Some reasons were the queen Mab speech and how he wanted peace between the two families, and as he cares for Romeos love.

Romeo and Juliet formal write up

I chose d) Mercutio is often considered one of Shakespeare's best characters and yet he is killed quite early in this play. Discuss how the relationships Mercutio is in influence his behaviour/choices, and discuss why you think so many people (including me) find him interesting and pleasure to watch/read. What do you think Shakespeare would say about his character Mercutio? Would you like him? Would he think he was brave, honourable ,immature ignorant or wise? 

I chose this topic because I can talk a lot about mercutio and what kind of person Mercutio is and why he is considered important in the play. For this essay topic I can use quotes and lines from the play. 

Love the Paris way

Hi I'm Paris and I'm a part of the Capulet family and in really good terms with lord Capulet he cares about me so much that he wants me to become his son-in-law and marry his beautiful daughter Juliet. It's very exciting to hear that I get to marry such a young and beautiful girl and soon have infants with her. I am trying to convince lord Capulet for the marriage to happen soon because as I have said "Younger than she are happy mothers made" which in my terms means she's young right now and can become a young responsible wife and mother as one of the girls about the age of 12 In our society are already having infants so the younger the better. Also it's really hard to have love with Capulet family because they have had a rivalry with the montagues for a really long time as I have said "of honourable reckoning are you both. And pity tis you have lived at odds so long. But now, my lord,what say you to my suit?"which means the two families have grat honour in their and it's very heartbreaking to know the two have been in rivalry so long. It would affect my business if they hit back together so I have stopped trying to bring the love back together but to avoid more disturbances in our society they should quit this fighting. I would also like to address that I'm so excited to marry the beautiful and young Juliet it will bring up my respect and bussiness in society, so I mean if somebody tries to break our alliance than understand their physical features will not be looking so handsome anymore but I won't have to really worry about occurring because normal people living in our society will not even try to get close and the Montagues dont even come close to the capulets so anybody wouldn't even dare. Well I have to win Juliet's heart and then she will be mines for ever. We'll love for me all bussiness if you score a new young and beautiful deal like I got Juliet than what's so bad about that right? I mean I can love her and love our future children even more well I love the capulet family like my own. 

Mid-term reflection

I think this term I deserve 80%. 

A) I'm always on time In class and never been away. I pay attention and use my time wisley most of the time and I often get distracted easily so I'm trying to improve on that. I always come to class with positive attuide and I participate in class activities.

To a Stranger

 Walter was an American poet,essayist and journalist. Walt Whitman was born on May 31st,1819. Walt was the 2nd child of 9 siblings. Walt had different careers such as he worked as a journalist, a government clerk,teacher and in addition for publishing his poetry. Walt started his own newspaper company called "The Long Islander". But a year later the company got shutdown due to his effortless work. 

 The poem "To a Stranger" is an interesting poem. I think the poem might be about how the poet loves someone and cares for the them and then how they become strangers and never talk

again to each other. The line "I have somewhere surely lived a life of joy with you" means how the person knew the stranger before or in a another life time because it say I have surely lived a life of joy with you. 

Another line" when I sit alone or wake at night alone. I'm to wait,i do not doubt i am to meet you again" means how the person waits for the stranger each and everyday of their life and the person is unsure if they would ever meet them again in their life time. 

I personally think the poem is based on Walt and the stranger he loves because when I read the poem I thought it would be about how the poet loves someone and cares for them so much 

How your heart is

I think Charles Bukowski should be content because every human has it's right to have fun and enjoy its life. In Charles childhood he used to get abused everyday by his father in different kinds of ways like he gets beaten by an razor and gets beaten if the grass wasn't perfectly cut. Charles also doesn't know how it feels to have an healthy relationship with his family. So he couldn't express his feeling with any one close to him in his childhood years. 

Also Charles was poor through out his entire life and didn't have a proper place to live in. In the poem Charles says sleeping in dirty motel rooms maybe he wants to know how it feels to live in an clean and neat house or environment instead of living in an dirty place. 

Money doesn't always give you happiness. Since Charles was poor he could have started working and earning money for him self and show his parent that what kind of person you are how your are capable of doing something on your own. 

Therefor I think Charles should be content in his life because he could do so many things in his life and move on in his life. 

Interim report

So far English 10 has been a great experience. English has been different this year because we are not writing on paper but we are using our technology devices to use websites such as blogger and edmodo. Edomodo is simliar to Facebook but we use it in useful way and on educational bases where we can see what assignments are due, homework or any up coming event that the teacher posted. Since it's only been 3 weeks since we started school we don't have have a percent or a letter grade because we only did 5-6 assignments. So assignments we did were history of English and me, what it's like to be a teen,the Myers Brigg personality test,litteratery term dialect, the extanded metaphor assignment and the tattoo assignment. I think overall English 10 has been different and a great experience so far. 

Tattoo Assignment

If I ever get a tattoo on my wraist it would be the word family in a heart. I would get it on my wraist because it wouldn't hurt there as much. I chose to get this tattoo because my family means everything to me. They are always there for me when I need them and help me through my hardest times. My parents are always very supportive and help me through my ups and downs. They always know what's right and wrong for me to lead me to the right path. My sister is always there for me no matter what happens and always has my back. The heart to me means to love your family and have them close to ur heart at all times no matter what happens. My core values that represent in this tattoo is I will always love my family, help them through all the thick and thins and their hardest times. 

Extended Metaphor

The Extended Metaphor I chose is a poem called  "hope" by Emily Dickinson. An extended metaphor is comparing two unlike things without using like or as throughout the entire poem. This poem is comparing hope. The line "hope is the thing with feathers" it means how hope is freely like a bird. 

Literary term

Free verse is a poem that doesn't have any limitation lines,a poem without rhyme or a rhyme scheme.

Myers Briggs personality test

Today I did the Myers Brigg personality test and I got ESFJ or the supporter. To be hosest some of the traits I got were right and some of them wrong. I got supporting and nurturing others and I agree with that because I understand peoples feeling and emotions very well. Therefore I also got follows rules and I agree with that because i always follow rules and never break them. The last one I got was I'm not shy and I usually host events well that's not true I'm the opposite of that I'm shy and usually don't host events. The person or celebrity that was also an ESFJ was Donald Duck. Down below is an screenshot of my results. 

what its like to be a teen.

Being a teenager isn't hard its just you have to be a little mature and make the right decisions for yourself. My parents help me with my education all the time and tell me to make the right decisions. My parents always understand me  what I tell them. My parents are always chill at all times unless its something serious. The only reason I got to schools is to learn new things and to have a better education . Yes I think school is a fun place for me because I get to meet my friends, get to learn new things and to have fun . My classes this semester are very easy. The best part about school is community leadership and the worst part of school is doing tests and exams. Yes I do have a job. Some pressure I feel on me is about the exams and  provincials, getting good grades and do bad in class. But sometimes school can get  a little hard and frustrating but you just got to believe in yourself and try harder .Yes I do get enough sleep every night and I get around 7 hours of sleep. I think being a teenager isn't that hard you just have to try your best in life with many ups and downs and encourage your self to move on in life.

History of You and English

My experience during English 8/9 was fantastic. I really enjoyed English 8 /9 because we did  lot of reading activities which I really like. One unit I loved in English 8/9 was poetry and short stories. In the poetry unit we got to make our own picture poems. Another great experience in English 8/9  was reading novels. I really enjoyed reading the outsiders and the pig-man because they were great books to read. I  also  really enjoyed the question and answer worksheets for the outsiders and the pig-man . One unit I really didn't like was Shakespeare because it was so boring and the wordings were  so hard to read out loud and difficult to understand the meaning. Those were some excellent experiences I had in my high school year so far in English.
